No hand to reach out to.

Silence hung in the air as the truth finally came out. Eiji had a strangely serene look as he held the fabric of one of his many colorful shawls up above his bicep. On his skin there was an unmistakable, damning burn mark, one that told the crowd of remaining students all they needed to know.

Disbelief was prevalent, anger was next. Then the questions. Why hadn't he said something upfront? Why did he drag it out? How could he do such a thing? He said nothing for several moments, frowning somberly as he let them all shout at once. Finally the room was called to order. It was Pheonix who was able to shout above them all to get everyone quiet.

Tiana shook her head, fighting back the confusion and distress. "Eiji. Just tell us what happened."

In that moment, Eiji's vacant, calm expression breaks. He swallows, looking at his feet. "It was an accident. I happened to have been awake when Jimmy wanted to finish his project, so I offered to go with him. I- I left the engine room for just a moment. I must have startled him when I came back. It happened so quickly that by the time I was trying to pull him out of the furnace he was ...he was already dead."

"So why-!?" Jean this time. Some of the anger in the room was already dissipating, but he could still see it in his eyes beneath the bewilderment.

"I was the killer, and I needed to be brought to justice." He looks up at them sadly. The guilt plain as day on his face. There's a pause and he does a funny thing. He smiles. "You found me. Thank you."

The room went quiet again, no one quite sure what to even say. It's Phoenix that breaks that silence, slamming his hands on the podium. The look in his eyes is fiery.

"I won't! This isn't justice!"

And so he didn't. The room erupted into chaos, but before anything could be done, the missvote was placed, damning them both. The chains flew out grabbing them both before Eiji could say a word of protest. Maya is left, clutching onto a blue suit jacket as they disappear from the room.

The smell of gunpowder was strong when the remaining students were brought to the execution room. The scene before them looks like a war-torn battlefield. Dilapidated buildings and debris liter the ground with the constant sound of explosions and artillery in the distance. Both Eiji and Phoenix stand in the middle of a clearing. On Eiji's face there's recognition before complete and utter horror, he turns to Phoenix as if urgently trying to tell him to run or take cover. As he does, something grabs his wrist, violently pulling him back and away. It's a monobear dressed in a curly blonde wig. A red monster claw instead of a right hand is what has a vice grip on Eiji's arm (http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/kamenrider/images/8/8a/Kamen-rider-OOO-ankh.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20140112234517&path-prefix=es). Eiji stares at the ensemble for the barest of moments before he's shouting in rage.

A blast rings out. A rocket hits the building closest to Phoenix. Before either of them can react, chunks of debris rain down upon the lawyer. Eiji screams.

He fights his way out of the grasp of MonoAnkh and makes a desperate dash for the debris. MonoAnkh stomps his foot as he runs, hoping up onto the stationary tank responsible for all the close blasts and fusses with the direction of the barrel. Despite Eiji's haste, pink is already leaking through the cracks of rock and rebar.

Before he's half way, another blast sounds. Another building close by explodes and another torrent of rubble rain down upon them. Eiji hits the ground from the force of the blast, dizzy. Before he's able to get up, a chunk of rock slams into his legs. The wet crack is muffled by the already noisy battlefield as is the cry of pain from the vagabond. Despite that, he's reaching out, trying to pull himself towards the pile of rock soaked in pink.

MonoAnkh seems of have gotten impatient and simply kicks at the tank's barrel. It lowers, firing another shot. This time the rocket makes it's mark. Eiji doesn't even look back as he's hit straight on.

The explosion is deafening, and once the smoke clears, there's little left of Eiji Hino besides a smoldering crater, a spatter of pink, and a single smoking dismembered hand laying a few feet short of reaching Phoenix and the rubble he was crushed beneath.
